On the evening that President Obama appears in New Jersey at a fundraiser for the re-election of Governor Jon Corzine, his Republican opponent, Chris Christie, appears on "The Situation Room," noting that once Obama leaves New Jersey on this night, the citizens know that Obama won't be running things if they vote Democratic on Election Day. "We're going to be stuck with Jon Corzine," he says.

Wolf Blitzer asks Christie if he describes himself as a "moderate or a conservative Republican." Christie responds that he is simply a Republican who cares about government having a lesser role, adding, "I'll leave the labeling to the pundits."

Christie also responds to an ad from the Corzine campaign painting his opponent as "throwing his weight around." "I'll let your audience in on a little secret, Wolf: I'm overweight," Christie tells Blitzer. I have struggled on and off with my weight for the last 30 years... That's the way it is."
