1.Live in the moment
You cannot change the past, but you can do something about your present and future. Forget the past mistakes, the past failures, the past pain and concentrate on what you have right now. Enjoy the tiny details in life, such as the air you breathe, the delicious dinner, the beautiful dress and the fact that you’re alive and well.
The more grateful you are, the more you get and the happier you feel. Give thanks for everything you have in your life; good health, your job, your home, your car and above all your friends and family. When you wake up the morning, be grateful for another day and don’t forget to appreciate everyone you meet; the storekeeper, the mail man and even your colleagues at work.
3.Focus of what makes you happy
We all have that one place that not only lightens our mood, but also makes us feel good about ourselves. It could be the beach, your deck or just favorite restaurant. As you enjoy the peace, visualize being there and set your spirits free. As you go on with your day to day activities, don’t let the hassle get into you, instead repeat 'I attract peace, love and happiness with me’.
4.Your thoughts are powerful
We have no control over what people do or think about us, but we can control how we respond and think. Bad thoughts equals bad attitude and unhappiness. Don’t give negative thoughts any space, if they crawl, just control them with positive affirmations. Remember, your thoughts control your actions and attitude.
5.Be like a child
Being an adult is tough. All the responsibilities, all the bills, all the chores, it can wear you out. However, it doesn’t have to be that serious. Get down and be like a two-year old. Try to see the world in the eyes of an innocent baby, you will realize everything doesn’t have to be all serious and stressful. Lie on a mat, outside and watch the beautiful sky. Be silly for a while!
6.Take your pet for a walk
There is a reason why a dog is considered a man’s best friend. A dog can brighten a dull atmosphere and lift your spirits. Just take him for a walk around town and let him lead you. Be sure to enjoy the walk; you can play with him, take pictures, pick a few flowers and maybe even meet some new people!
7.Learn to give your time
Giving is an immensely satisfying experience, and the joy of giving cannot be expressed by words. Giving your time will bring happiness to your life. If you’re wondering how to be happy alone, don’t. There are too many good people everywhere you look that would love your company. One good way to give your time to others is by contributing to a cause you believe in. By doing this, you will realize how fortunate you are. It will also strengthen the bonding that you share with other people. Repeat the positive affirmation, 'something good will happen to me today and something good will happen through me today’.
8. Use your magical hands
Your hands are magical, use them to express your feelings. Here, you don’t have to follow any rules, and you don’t have to worry about making mistakes. Just let it flow, and paint anything you want.
9.Put it down on paper
Are you fighting with your boyfriend/girlfriend? Is your boss giving you a hard time? Or, are your children causing too much trouble? Instead of yelling, or feeling sorry for yourself, take a pen and write a letter. Write everything you feel, this is a great way to release all the negative emotions. Read your letter and then throw it away, you will be surprised at how relieved you will feel.
10.Know your roots
If you can, go visit your grandfather and talk to him. Ask about your family history, ask about his life and if he lived anywhere else and recall all the beautiful memories your family has shared. If you can’t find your grandparent, talk to your father, mother, aunt, elder sister, elder brother, or any other relative. Learning about your history will help you appreciate your life.
