Abstract: The role of civil organizations in establishing mediation in Hungary Civil Society Organizations in Hungary have played a significant role in the systemic establishment and also in the professional development of mediation in the last 15 years. The role of civil organizations in mediation focuses mostly on the implementation of mediation services in different fields (family mediation, victim-offender mediation, community mediation) and professional development, including training, mentoring and supervision. They have had a great influence on the legal regulation of mediation by lobbying and co-operating with professional and also governmental bodies and institutions.
Eva Deak as the Executive Director of Partners Hungary Foundation is in charge of planning and managing the mediation activities of the foundation. She was responsible for the consensus building process last year that was initiated to prepare a decree on compulsory pre service and in-service training of mediators in co-operation with Ministry of Justice. She is a graduated and practicing mediator as well.
Abstract: Mediation in Croatia overview and development opportunities First Law on mediation adopted in 2003. Mediation centres in business associations were founded. EU project connected economy, judiciary and promoted mediation. CPC provides for judicial mediation. Government adopted the Strategy for development, amended Law on Mediation. The structure of mediation is quite well developed, professionals acquainted, Croatia has enough trained mediators. Overview of the system and next steps for development and comparison with other countries.
