Paul, a 30-year Navy veteran, has volunteered for ten years with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. ESGR was established by the Department of Defense in 1972 in an effort to create a culture in which military service is valued by every civilian employer in the United States. As the senior volunteer in Michigan, Paul leads a team of 100 volunteers who work with the 19,000 members of the National Guard and Reserve who live and work in our state, as well as their 7,000 employers, to achieve ESGR's goals. ESGR volunteers strive to recognize the outstanding support already provided by many employers to their National Guard and Reserve employees. They work to inform both employers and employees about their rights and responsibilities under the federal law governing employment of National Guard and Reserve members in the civilian workplace and they help to resolve conflicts through informal mediation. ESGR is the only federal agency tasked with these missions. Visit http://redcrossggr.org/get-assistance... to learn about the Red Cross' Services to the Armed Forces.
