This is another tune with roots in minstrelsy. We usually play this three part tune in A, but it's also sometimes played in D or G. We're playing it in G here, because Ed forgot his capo! The chorus goes: "Dance, boatman, dance, dance, boatman, dance; stay out all night, 'til the broad daylight, come home with the girls in the morning." Ed is playing clawhammer style in standard G, I am three-finger picking in G variant (gDGAD).
