Lyrics:
Nun- yeah im getting none
Hay- I get half of em
Shin- now I’m sharing some
Gimel- then I’m getting em

I got a dreidel and you know that’s what I’m a spinnin,
Getting all the gelt up cause you know that’s what I’m winnin’
Got my sivivon, that’s in hebrew how we say,
Jews all around the worldthis is the game that we all play,

You take some chocolate coins, and pass em all around,
And take your plastic dreidel and then spin it on the ground,
Then you’ll watch the dreidel spin, round and round as it will go,
Just hope to be the winner as your gelt will grow and grow,

so Every Hannukah Jews gather to play this game
passed down from generation every year doing the same
it’s a really easy thing, heck anyone out there can do it,
just spin the dreidel round and round that’s really all that’s to it

four sides with hebrew letters, nun gimel hay and shin
collect all of the coins that what you’ll do then you will win
and howd we get the letters theres a saying it is from,
a famous hebrew saying nes gadol haya sham,

Nun- yeah im getting none
Hay- I get half of em
Shin- now I’m sharing some
Gimel- then I’m getting em

So let me take you back to 2 BCE,
The Greeks controlled the Jews, and they just wanted to be free,
The jews were persecuted, had no hopes of getting peace,
Dreaming of a day when all the hating would just cease,

Teaching the torah to the children, the rabbis found a way,
To teach the mitzvot safefully every single day,
They took the little dreidels, and they put em all around,
So if the greeks were coming, they would listen for their sound,

They would take the dreidels out and pretend that they were playing,
So it looked like having fun, when really they were praying,
So now we do not hide it, nothing for us to fear,
So we’ll celebrate that freedom, every single year

So grab a little dreidel, and hold it with your might,
And think about our ancestors that had to take that fight,
So grab a dreidel spin it, spin it everyone,
I told ya what they stand for, nes gadol hayah sham

Nun- yeah im getting none
Hay- I get half of em
Shin- now I’m sharing some
Gimel- then I’m getting em

I had a little dreidel and I made it out of clay,
And when it’s dry and ready, oh with dreidel I shall play,

There’s nothing like this with any other holiday,
That’s why channukah’s the greatest one, cuz of the dreidel I must say

Nes Gadol, Hayah Sham, spin the dreidel one by one,
Man you know it’s lots of fun, so spin that dreidel everyone,

Here we go, now it’s time it’s true,
To sit around the circle with your fellow hebrew,
And if you win the game, you’re the luckiest man,
Cuz you just took in all the gelt, and that’s the master plan,

It started with a miracle oil lasting eight nights,
The Jewish people fighting to have those equal rights,
We were small but won the war, against many a greek,
Christmas might be one night, but channukahs a week,
Fast forward to our times now, we are free it’s true,
Put a menorah in your window and be proud to be a jew

Nun- yeah im getting none
Hay- I get half of em
Shin- now I’m sharing some
Gimel- then I’m getting em
