Ok well, as with other characters with good enough 4th weapons, I used Xiahou Dun's 4th weapon in this video, because Im too lazy to get his ideal 3rd weapon. The differences aren't too big, but big enough to see some really nice changes. Xiahou Dun is a relatively challenging characters to use. Like Guan Yu, if you're looking for best defense and just simply the best result, almost every maneuver needs to be thought about and planned ahead of time. And all of this is governed by crowd size, crowd density, and musou fill. The most important difference between this recommended 3rd weapon and his 4th weapon is the extra Fill. This gives him a combined Fill bonus of +40 both from weapon and the Ginseng item, and the reason why it's an important difference is because it'll allow him to use his best offense more often, because his C3 will fill his long musou in a wider range of crowd sizes.

Omitting Way of Musou is for the reason that the ending of his True Musou is inconsistent with hitting. If you miss with it, counterattacking might be the only way out, and counterattacking every time you mess up is kind of hard.
I have a feeling that Xiahou Dun might be capable of killing generic officers in one musou with the Fire Orb, and the combo to carry this out would be a full C3 followed by a full musou. If you do this with his 4th weapon against a "might" class generic officer, you'll notice he's about a two hits or something like that, away from finishing off the officer. His 4th weapon lack 4 Musou points from maxed out, and lacks 3 Attack points from maxed out. So Im just wondering if this might be enough for him to kill officers in one simple combo. But then....having the probable need to have to get all or most hits to succeed suggests possible consistency issues even IF it is possible to dominate generic officers in this way with the Fire Orb. And well, another thing that make this Fire Orb setup seem not so impressive is that against playable officers, he's stuck with a two musou offense, whereas with the Ice Orb, he'll take out most officers in one musou 60% of the time.
