I know a Dutch woman who'd been living in Brazil for 15 years when she decided to go back to Holland with her Brazilian red-haired husband and kids. They came back 3 years later because of the people. As a Brazilian who's been to Ireland, Argentina, US, England, Uruguay, Portugal and Spain, I'd say the Irish are THE PEOPLE when it comes to genuine #warmth. They're my favourite and then the English, however reserved they're said to be and definately not cold at all and sometimes very similar to Minas Gerais State's countryside people. Then Americans, yes, they're very friendly and the most open-minded people I've met and really enjoy a good laugh like the Irish, English and Brazilians. Argentines next, very friendly - I don't care for this stupid football rivalry between Brazil and Argentina and then Spaniards. Now, I have mixed feelings about the Portuguese. I don't think I'll ever go back to Portugal other than for a flight connection or so, I'm afraid, simply because it's the only country so far where I've come up against a significant amount of unfriendliness although I've been fortunate enough to meet some friendly locals as well. I've met a lot of Germans too and more often than not they come across as very strange, humourless, unnatural-sounding, boring people. It doesn't mean they are, just my experience, that's all. I should go to Germany and spend some time there before forming a proper opinion. But I suppose we have those people in Brazil too as, for instance, I HAVE NEVER got any positive feedback from nationals on Curitiba City people. Given its continental size, you'd expect Brazil to have so many different cultures, habits, ethnicities, accents, mentalities, ethos, lifestyles, landscapes. Quite a few nonnationals I've met often say they adapt better to different nationals in different States of Brazil either because of the climate, food, culture, or people or a combination of a few or all of them.

Dutch? no way. I live in Holland and people in Britain are much kinder than Dutch people, who, indeed rat man, swear a lot with cancer and other conditions. I don't, and I don't get those people. Sometimes I hate being Dutch.

As a Dane, I would have chosen the Netherland as number 1 too.  The Irish people are also very nice
