Some PhD Scholars have proposed that behind the mythical Garden of Eden lies an even earlier mythical Paradise called Dilmun (Tilmun or Nitukki) in Sumerian myths. Although the current scholarly consensus is that Dilmun is the Bahrain archipelago (Bahrain and Failaka islands) and the east shore of Arabia from Kuwait to Bahrain, this identification is _not_ a "secure" one. Reasons are given as to why Dilmun "may" lie in the marshes east of Ur and Eridu (between ancient Sumer and Elam).
