John Bunker Sands Wetlands Center (TX) Bald Eagles lay their second egg of the 2017 season at 6:55 p.m. nest time. It is sneaky. Mom is snoozing and suddenly lifts herself in the nest, has a few quick contractions, and the egg is out in less than a minute. She doesn't give us a view until over an hour later, after she has taken a nice long nap with her beak tucked under her wing.
Egg is pushed out at timestamp 00:49
First view is at 02:00
