A man is in critical condition after he was shot by police in the Fairhill section of Philadelphia overnight.
According to police officials, officers opened fire on a driver that they say brandished a gun as they approached a car they had pulled over on the 2500 block of N. 4th Street, near Cumberland at around 3 a.m.
Joe Kaczmarek was on location for the GunCrisis Reporting Project was during the investigation.
The wounded man was rushed to Temple University Hospital, and police report that they recovered the suspect's gun at the scene.
