In the Avalokitesvara Sutra
it's the Bodhisattva himself to tell that
when he was charged to bring
benefits and happyness to all living beings,
didn't trust it, so he turned to Buddha,
"If I'm able to bring happyness
to all living beings,
let me have one thousand hands and a thousand eyes."
After his statement, hands and eyes on his body multiplied in a thousand.
Because of this the Bodhistavva is also
known with name of Thounsand Eyes
and Thousand Hand Bodhisattva.

This CD is a collection of the ancient and devotional chants collected in the Lotus Sutra.

Sutras (Buddhist teachings) in the Japanese tradition for centuries have relied on in an ancient language called Shindoku, namely "language of faith."

To the Buddhist devouts of Hokke tradition (tradition of Lotus Sutra) some chapters hold a special significance for the spiritual growth of his followers: these chapters are the II and the XVI chapter Lotus Sutra.

In this publication the ancient language brings again the mysterious and hidden sounds of the Buddhist faith. From the Lotus Sutra has also been choosen the invocation of Chapter Dharani: since the birth of Japanese Buddhism is the set of formulas (Dharani) used for the blessing of both objects and people in order to ward off malevolent entity.

In a publication devoted to the Lotus Sutra could not fail in our opinion even the invocation of Tibet preeminently: Om Mani Padme Hum is the mantra transmitted by Bodhisattva Kannon of Great Compassion (Avalokiteshvara) who in the Tibetan tradition is the embodiment of Great Compassion to Believers of every age and region. In the Lotus Sutra, an entire chapter is devoted to the great powers of this Bidhisattva, revered both by Zen tradition than by the Hokke.

This publication would like to propose these ancient devotional chats in a form closer to the current conception of modern man, giving the possibility to those who do not follow or do not know these invocations to appreciate the spirit of devotion, which has remained intact over the centuries.

We can not but wish you to plunge into this rich atmosphere of spiritual energy with an attentive heart and grateful to the great and immortal teachings of the Lotus Sutra.
