FOCUS (Families OverComing Under Stress), a service from the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), provides cutting-edge family resiliency services for military children and families at designated Navy and Marine Corps sites. Since 2009, these services have also been accessible to Army and Air Force families via the Department of Defense's Office of Family Policy.
FOCUS' resiliency training for military children and families teaches practical skills to meet the challenges of deployment and reintegration. The training teaches them how to communicate and solve problems effectively, in order to successfully set goals together and create a shared family story.
