At the age of nineteen, Gino Gianola was in charge of intake at the Intensive Care Unit of the US Army's 36th evac hospital in Vietnam's Mekong Delta. "I didn't know what I shouldn't know back then" he recounts. Gino heard about the new profession of physician assistant while still in Vietnam, and became one of the nation's first PA's when he returned from active duty. He serves on the national veteran's caucus, and is senior faculty at the MEDEX Northwest program.
