I enjoy Street Fighter X Tekken but do you seriously think with it's multiple infinites, time outs victories commonplace, no hit boxes for characters heads, jab pressure being way to strong early on and a gem system that was more or less shoehorned in would ever even be nominated? I still play SFxT to death but it is not a 'good' or solid fighting game... yet.

It doesn't surprise me that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 went with the title since it IS the biggest 3D fighter, but my personal favorite was DoA5. Tekken is hampered by the fact that there is a such a huge distance between the pro and casual player. Against a pro you can get in situations where you are juggled for an entire match. DoA on the other hand has the excellent counter system that punishes players who use the same moves over and over again, leading to more fun and unique fights.

Except....you're wrong. I know because i've been playing Tekken since the first game. Yes juggles are a bit crazy nowadays, and i would actually want them to be toned down personally, but you never see some beginner winning against a longtime high level player just because they memorized their juggles.
God hand Mishima
Yeah there were some that got left out. SCV being one that i can think of.

Yay tekken won. Being the best doesnt mean that you brought something new to the table(even though it did), it won because it is the most fun and engaging and really is the best fighter
