Cowichan Valley - Today members of the freshwater fisheries society filled Quamichan lake for the last time this year, and they weren't alone, they put a group of nine year olds to work. One by one - grade four students from queen of angel's school release a Taylor cutthroat trout into Quamichan lake. 1500 trout. all 18 months old, weighing roughly just over half a pound. 1000 rainbow trout were also released today. To help assist the students were the Quamichan stewards - who are trying to inspire the people of Cowichan valley to value the Quamichan watershed. All of the students agreed - this is a day they will never forget.
