For the first time this season, The University of Texas at Tyler has swept the ASC East Golfer of the Week on both the men's and women's side, with senior Brandon Ellis and sophomore Jennifer King each earning the weekly recognition by the league office for tournaments played March 28-30.

King (Victoria, TX / Memorial HS) finished third place individually at the Southwestern Invitational at Berry Creek CC in Georgetown, Texas, by carding a 23-over-par 88-79—167. She was only three shots off the medalist and recorded one of the three rounds in the 70s. King also led the Patriots to a runner-up finish in the field of seven teams.

Ellis (Village Mills, TX / Warren HS) finished in third place individually with a 1-over-par 71-71-75—217 at the UTD Spring Classic at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson, Texas, and also helped the Patriots claim their sixth straight team title. Ellis, who takes the conferences top weekly award for the second time this season, finished only behind golfers from NCAA Division I programs Southern Methodist and Baylor.

The men have now claimed four straight ASC East Golfers of the Week, while the women grabbed their second of the season after Callie Rice was named the POTW in Week 2.

Both teams (JV men) will be back in action April 11-13 at the LeTourneau Spring Classic.
