In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
My name is Mastora Bakhiet. In 2010, I obtained a Master of Intercultural Services, Leadership, and Management Candidate SIT Graduate Institute, Brattleboro, VT. Early in my career, I served as a Women's Development Officer (1989-1993) at Jebel Marra Rural Development Project (JMRDP), sponsored by the European Economic Community in Darfur, Sudan. I was responsible for planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating women's development programs. I also supervised a staff of 26 in twelve women's development centers throughout twelve different villages. I coordinated development programs for women and organizations working in the same field (UNICEF, ILO) as well as independent projects, such as designing income garnering activities for female households.
