A brazen early evening shooting at inner city birthday party left two dead. The victims: a five year old girl and a mother of three driving by the scene. Three others, including an eight year old boy, were also injured. The killings sparked an immediate response from the city and community. Outrage over the senseless violence was palpable on the scene. One day later 18-year-old Leo Riles turned himself into police. But for WVUE, the story didn't end there. In the following weeks and months, as response to murders grew and WVUE began to ask questions about the Riles' criminal history.
