Publish an API to internal developers, contractors and partners
While the best-known APIs are those that are open to the public, the majority of APIs are published privately. These APIs are made available to a select group of developers, which may include internal staff, contractors and partners.
This video explains how, using the Layer 7 API Portal, APIs can be designated as Private, hiding the relevant documentation, forums and other information from any developer to whom the publisher has not expressly granted access.
In this way, an organizations can beta test APIs with a select group of developers or even manage both internal APIs (exposed only to internal developers) and public APIs (exposed to external developers) on the same Portal.
