Thanks for clicking on this video, "Seeing the nurse" 看护士 (kàn hù shì) by Groovi Pauli & Friends. This video was created to help young children learn Chinese words/phrases by seeing them used in context.

Our experienced nurse Ah-fen (阿芬护士 ā fēn hù shì) sees five patients who have a variety of symptoms:
1. Hans - sore throat 喉咙痛 (hóu lóng tòng)
2. Bjorn - stomach ache 肚子痛 (dù zi tòng)
3. Huang wen duan - cough 咳嗽 (kě sòu)
4. Aoife - runny nose 流鼻涕 (liú bí tì)
5. Groovi Pauli - fever 发烧 (fā shāo) and fear of shots 怕打针 (pà dǎ zhēn)

Nurse Ah-fen begins each consultation by asking a series of questions:
Where does it feel uncomfortable? (你哪里不舒服 nǐ nǎ lǐ bù shū fu)
What is your name? (你叫什么名字 nǐ jiào shén me míng zi)
How old are you? (你几岁 nǐ jǐ suì)
Are you a boy or girl? (你是男的还是女的 nǐ shì nán de hái shì nǚ de)
She suggests to each person that they drink more water 多喝水 (duō hē shuǐ) to wash their hands 洗手 (xǐ shǒu) and to rest 休息 (xiū xi).
