I have gone back and forth about whether or not I should release this video. My concern was that if I confessed this, I would be subject to attacks and an onslaught of online hate. I finally decided to confess that I support Donald Trump for President, because I realized it was the right thing to do. I shouldn't have to hide who I am and what I believe in just because some people might not agree. This is my truth. I am gay, AND I support Donald Trump.
There are a lot of reasons to support Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential Election. Here are 3 of my primary reasons:
Reason 1: [INFRASTRUCTURE] Trump wants to invest in America. That’s something that hasn’t really been done in decades. Instead of just building new roads and hospitals in other countries, Trump wants America to again have the best roads, bridges, and railways in the world. He also wants to build new VA hospitals to better care for our millions of veterans. That kind of reinvestment would create hundreds of thousands of new jobs and spark our lagging economy.
Reason 2: [IMMIGRATION] Trump wants to secure our borders and reform immigration. And look, I think anyone should be allowed to come to the United States - as long as they do so legally! But we should *not* allow more people in to our country *illegally* when we can’t even care for people already here! Feeding America says more than 15 million American children regularly go hungry. Everyone agrees that’s a problem, so why should we make the problem worse through a stream of illegal immigrants?

Reason 3: [EQUALITY] Believe it or not, Trump supported equality long before Hillary Clinton! In an interview with The Advocate 15 years ago, Trump supported equal rights and equal protections for gays and gay couples. Granted, he didn’t want it to be called “marriage,” but he did advocate for unions with equal legal rights. In 2000, Trump also said he had no issue appointing openly gay people to his cabinet, and he even wanted the 1964 Civil Rights Act amended to *include* protections for the LGBT community! What was Hillary Clinton’s position then? Well… don’t ask & she won’t tell.
Plus, Donald Trump knows how to create jobs! Proof? Trump Enterprises employs more than 22,000 people! Trump also wants to reform our horrible tax code and let hard-working families keep more of their paycheck instead of giving it to the government. And since we’re talking money... Trump also supports equal pay for women. He said so just a few weeks ago during a live TV interview on MSNBC.
There are plenty more reasons to support Donald Trump, but it isn't up to me to do convince you of that. As always, I encourage everyone to do their research and draw their own conclusions. I won't hate you for voting for Hilary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, or any other politician I won't be voting for. We can all disagree, and that's what makes America great!
