ASCAP writer-producer Walter Afanasieff has won multiple Grammys and written and/or produced some of the best-selling singles of all time, including Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On." But as he told ASCAP in this interview, one of his most beloved achievements was co-writing "All I Want for Christmas Is You" with Mariah Carey, a beloved holiday classic that appears on our list of the top 30 holiday songs of the century. We chatted with Afanasieff about how he and Mariah wrote the song, and why he thinks it continues to resonate with listeners, 20 years after it was written.

ASCAP's hundreds of thousands of songwriter, composer and music publisher members all have one thing in common: they are driven to create.
