if the belief is that we go to heaven after dying, why is it always a sad thing when someone dies? why don't Christians have a big happy "going to heaven" party?

Hahahaha. Perfect. Faith should not be treated as a virtue.

But seriously, if you actually believe that all dead/aborted children go to heaven, you should abort all of your children now – just to make sure. That's the logical consequence of that belief.

There should just be absolutely no debate here. It's called a belief for a reason. I'm not here to jab at either side (I myself am NOT a creationist) but the meat of the religion(s) is that we don't have any proof that it's real so we have to believe in it, and through that get some sort of help/strength that might as well just be placebo or random. These creationists are sitting here, talking about all their stuff as if it's all a proven fact (or anything that can be proven), which negates the greatest part of the concept of religion in the first place. It's not dumb to believe in any kind of higher power. It's dumb to rely on it (unless you literally have no other option), but it's not dumb to believe in it. Some people still believe in such a thing as "being lucky" which is just as much a "greater power" as the idea of a god in the clouds with a great plan for everyone on Earth. It's nice to hope in your beliefs, and it can probably have positive psychological effects too. But treat them as what they are, beliefs, not facts.

Oh look at the black guy saying that God is a God of the defenseless. A few centuries of slavery just kinda went unnoticed, did they?

Why are people so completely out of shape about her saying that believing something without evidence is idiotic? IT IS. Stop reacting with your gut and the way society has shaped you, thinking that people who have faith are special, spiritual, soulful, deep, multi-dimensional... nope. Believing that a sky-person made a person who never had sex birth a god-human who then purposefully died from a Roman execution to save us all from what masturbating will do to us after we die... people who believe THAT... are ignorant, witless, unexposed to fact, brainwashed, immature, and gullible. Period.

The good thing about being an atheist is knowing that there is not some evil narcissist listening to my thoughts.
