Two Kiribati boxers, Terieta Ruatu and Andrew Kometa trained in the UK for 6 months as part of the London 2012 Olympic Pre Games Training Camps.
Kiribati is a nation in the Pacific Ocean, a collection of 32 Atols, Kiribati has never qualified an athlete for the Olympic Games, the training camps are an opportunity for every Olympic nation to accilmatise and train in the UK ahead of London 2012. In 2008 Oceania nations selected the North West of England as the home of their training camps
To wish Andrew and Tarieta good luck, Te Reitaki, a traditional Kiribati dance was organised in their honour.
This film features the expressive traditional Kiribati dance against the backdrop of a supportive community, wishing the boxers well as they travelled to the London 2012 qualifiers in Canberra, the Oceania Boxing Championships.
