To achieve the goal of 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds selecting the proper body type is very important. Picking a 1934 Ford Sedan allows the engine and front seat to be set-back 4 to 6 inches providing more weight on the rear wheels. This extra weight provides the needed traction for the 16.5 inch section width Mickey Thompson tires.
A combination of the set-back with a sedan body, a hefty 9 inch Ford Rear, a beefy 4 bar link suspension and rear cross member combined with aluminum heads, manifold, water pump, radiator and a small starter proved a finished 53% of the car weight on the rear wheels. It exceeded the performance goal!
