When PNoy arrived from his first presidential trip abroad, the Philippines received a $434-million aid from the US. However, not everyone looked at it with all optimism. This week on Journo, Sun Star Cebu columnist Nini Cabaero shares her views on why the multi-million-dollar aid to the Philippines is not a guaranteed solution to the issue of poverty. Although the Philippines is a Catholic-dominated country, recent surveys have indicated that Filipinos are becoming more open to artificial methods of family planning. The church has vehemently opposed the Reproductive Health Bill to the extent of posing threats of civil disobedience.
