it isn't likley slipping because rails are slippery, but that they don't have enough motive power for the weight of the train & the grade. You can have perfect adhesion but too much tonnage..

The train is big enough. I don't understand how extra locomotives can push it up. without weighing it down that is.

Thanks! It's amazing how slick that steel can get. Have slid loco's a couple of times, PUCKER city!! Especially when there was a shop door in front of me! Fun! The couch needs turned around tho!
