On this Earth Day, April 22nd 2012 I felt I wanted to put a message out there for the world about how any little help they can do to make the world a better/cleaner place would be so beneficial for everyone/everything now and in the future! This Earth Day commercial from 1971 says it so boldly I don't think it could be shown/told any better. Thanks to the Keep America Beautiful nonprofit organization founded in 1953....
The Indian/Actor in this commercial is known as Iron Eyes Cody and was an American actor. He frequently portrayed American Indians in Hollywood films. Cody became widely seen in his "crying Indian" role in the "Keep America Beautiful" Public Service Announcement (PSA) in the early 1970s. The environmental commercial showed Cody as an Indian, shedding a tear after people throw trash from a speeding car and it lands at his feet. The announcer, William Conrad, says: "People start pollution; people can stop it."
