The Arizona Humane Society's annual pet telethon was held on August 2nd and raised more than half a million dollars for the animals. No doubt that part of the reason it was so successful was the TV debut of none other than the newest member of Team Burns, Emma Burns!

We can't be sure, but we think that after viewers watching the Arizona Humane Society's 2008 pet telethon heard about Emma Burns' magnificent rags to riches story, they started really opening up their wallets to donate! Less than a year ago, Emma was given up by her family, and found herself alone in a kennel at the Arizona Humane Society. Although it was a nice kennel, and nice people were taking good care of her, she longed for a family that she could call her own forever. Then, low and behold, Ron Burns came walking through one day, spotted her, and Emma decided then and there to adopt his heart! The rest is history, now Emma lives with her famous artist dad, and has become a TV sensation (at least in our minds)!

Of course, Emma let Ron steal some of her spotlight. In his interview with Tim Crum, Executive Director of the Arizona Humane Society, Ron talked about his dedication to saving animals' lives through his artwork, of which, a percentage is always donated to animal-related non-profit organizations.

Beyond being interviewed during the telethon, Ron's art was also used to brighten up the sets. Here you can see the beautiful eyes of Winkin and Grover staring right at you. Other artwork dressing up the sets included Scissy, If You Want Me...I'll be in the Kitchen, Bernie, and Roy Speaks.
