Week 8 Thursday Night Football on ESPN TV has a very attractive match up as the Oregon Ducks are sent on the road to the desert to face the improved Arizona St Sun Devils. The most attractive Thursday Night college football game of the season gets started at 9PM Eastern Time and can be watched nationally over ESPN.

Oregon was listed as a -10 point favorite in this PAC 12 conference game when the odds were released on Sunday night with the total at 60 points. The bettors like the Arizona St Sun Devils side and the under in this game. Oregon is now favored by -9 ½ points with the over under at 68 ½ points.

The Ducks are a perfect 6-0 this season with the Sun Devils at 5-1. The only blemish on the Arizona St Sun Devils record came in a 24-20 road defeat on a Saturday Night nationally televised game to Missouri. This will be the Oregon Ducks second road game of the year. On September 29th the Ducks defeated Washington St on the road by the score of 51-26 as a -30 ½ point favorite. The Ducks were challenged in the first half as they held just a 23-19 lead at halftime. When you look at the Sun Devils five wins this season you find no wins against winning division one schools. Colorado, California, Utah, Illinois and Northern Arizona are victories that don't give the bettor much faith in the Sun Devils here. With the coaching change from Dennis Erickson to Todd Graham we have seen a more disciplined team that don't beat themselves with penalties. I remember the last meeting between Arizona St and Oregon in a game won by the Ducks 42-31. The Sun Devils outgained the Ducks by over 210 yards. Problem for the Sun Devils were there seven turnovers and nine penalties for 90 yards. Oregon did not look as fast on the field at Arizona St because the Sun Devils have speed on defense. Oregon Ducks freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota faces his biggest road test thus far in his college football career.

Trends reveal the over 4-0 in their past four head to head meetings. The teams pushed against the spread in last year and Arizona St covered two years ago at home. Oregon has scored no less than 42 points in any one game this season. The Sun Devils are ranked 8th nationally in total defense allowing 272 yards per game and 9th in scoring defense giving up just 14 points a game.
