The Association for the Improvement of Women's Status in Lakia, Israel was the first Bedouin women's organization. Among the projects run by the non-profit organization are youth leadership projects, educational projects, the Mobile Library which reaches over 1,500 children, and the Desert Embroidery Visitor Center and Store.
