As part of the 2011 Carthage Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE), three students - Garrett Boelkes ('12), Adam Glover ('12), and Chris Goldsmith ('13) - worked under the mentorship of Prof. Scott Hegrenes to study invasive species in the local ecosystems. Carthage's Invasive Species Working Group has been monitoring several lakes in the area for two years. The group's goal is to continue to monitor the same locations for several years in order to assess changes in populations of invasive species, as well as changes to the ecosystem as a whole.
