Several examples are shown of how to solve exponential or logarithmic equations. When the x is stuck in the exponent you need to take the log (or ln) of both sides. When the x is stuck in the log, you need to exponentiate both sides b to the power of (____) where b is whatever the base of the log is to make it easier. This works because exponential functions are inverses of logarithms and vice versa, and it has the same effect as adding 5 after subtracting 5. Part 2 has compound interest story problems that include applying our new found talent of solving exponential equations. I didn't quite get to the answer of the last problem before spitting out the answer (it's approximately 22.4 years).
