Medal count Day 9, and while Team USA nabbed a gold (Sanya Richards-Ross) and a bronze (DeeDee Trotter) in the 400-meter dash, the Americans fell behind China in the overall count. China now leads with 61 overall medals, including a field-leading 30 gold. The Americans pushed their total to 60 overall medals with six on Sunday -- including three golds -- bringing their total to 28.

In men's track and field, Team USA's Justin Gatlin took home the bronze behind Jamaicans Usain Bolt (with an Olympic record 9.63 seconds) and Yohan Blake in the 100-meter dash. In third, mostly thanks to Andy Murray's gold on Sunday, is Great Britain with 37 medals, including 16 golds. Russia's 35 puts it in fourth place, though only four gold. Japan remains in fifth with 27 overall medals.
