On September 10, the Hyundai Gives Hope September Initiative visited the Batchelor Children's Research Institute at the University of Miami. The funds will be used to support their Survivorship Program which focuses on helping survivors cope with the cognitive symptoms that come post treatment.

Dr. Lipshultz, head of the Institute, thanked Hyundai for its generous donation and expressed his enthusiasm for their Survivorship program. As he stated in his speech, late effect research isn't just a great program to support, it's a necessity to help children and their families deal with having cancer.

Two patients and their families were also able to attend the ceremony and express their appreciate for the Hope Grant. One of the patients, Kristin, will be cancer free on July 4, 2011 and wanted to share with other kids dealing with cancer that there is always hope and that they should look to their families for the support they need.
