How did abandoned cats find a home on Roosevelt Island?
It's a mystery that's haunted the NYC island for decades and some have their speculations. Diana spoke with Rossana Cercuzzi, president of the Wildlife Freedom Foundation, who told her Roosevelt Island became an epicenter for "animal dumping" years ago. Many of the abandoned cats were not neutered or spayed, which led to a huge feral cat problem.
Cercuzzi and her volunteers now manage the cat population through a trap, neuter and release program. For more info visit WildlifeFreedomFoundation.org
