Candace Carter, a Philadelphia Student Union member presents recommendations for achieving safer, more equitable schools. She talks about her experiences with teacher quality and the need for an equitable distribution of resources at schools, including qualified teachers. She explains the need for school districts to use actual teacher salaries in their budgeting, as a step toward achieving equity across the school district. Candace also presents a platform of what needs to change when 'No Child Left Behind' is reauthorized by Congress. This platform was created by the Alliance for Educational Justice.
