Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi is a Twelver Shī'ah scholar, a speaker, as well as an author. He is the second-born son of Sa'eed Akhtar Rizvi.


Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi was born in the Saran district of Bihar, India. He migrated with his family to Tanzania, where he underwent elementary schooling. In 1972 he went to Qom for religious studies and in 1982 he returned to India.

In 1983 he migrated with his family to Vancouver, and by 1991 he completed his Master of Arts degree in History (with no prior undergraduate degree), at Simon Fraser University. He then moved to Ontario in the same year, and since 1996 he has been the Imam of the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Toronto.
