Spencer Collins, 9, of Leawood talks about his Little Free Library he made with his grandfather. The free-standing little library was installed into the front yard of his home in Leawood offering free books to readers. The City of Leawood notified the family that the structure violated city codes and would have to be removed. They also faced a fine of $25 per day for non-compliance. The structure would need to be attached to the house to be compliant. For now, Spencer and his family will store their Little Free Library in the garage.
