This shows the home place of a family, who settled by Alum Creek in 1818 and built their log cabin by the trails by the river in an untamed wilderness. A little later they moved their cabin up hill and even later built their frame house around it. It still had the original log cabin door and latch strap.

Around 1970, the Alum Creek Dam was put in and the place was taken. They moved the house to higher ground where it is now and still containing the log cabin parts. The remains of the house are now under the Alum Creek Reservoir water. However when the water level is down the old homes can be seen.

The video shows one of the descendants of the log cabin builders, who grew up in the house shown. She is looking at the remains of the home she grew up in (which are underwater most of the time). A few times the water has been left out and once people could walk along the old Africa Road.

This part shows Fred White's Dairy Farm
