Shyam Kamath, Associate Dean of Graduate Business and Global Programs in the School of Economics and Business Administration at Saint Mary's College is profiled in the "Bay Area Proud" series of NBC Bay Area News. The weekly news feature highlights people and companies making a positive difference in the Bay Area and the world.

Five years ago, Kamath, a Professor of Global Business and Economics, created the Trans-Global Executive MBA (TGEMBA) program, a unique social service executive MBA program that uses business solutions to tackle poverty and other social ills across the globe.

Kamath spoke to Bay Area News reporter Garvin Thomas about a recent T-GEMBA to Uganda, where graduate students in the program were tasked to create a business plan to help the only children's hospital in the East African country become self-sustaining.
