In this tutorial, I'll show you how to sew and glue a text block for case binding your own book. I'll also include how to add a ribbon bookmark in the process. This video focuses on just the text block for case binding method itself.
Kettle stitching is the traditional method for case binding, but since I taught myself, this is my own modified version — a mixture of kettle and coptic stitching. If you're more familiar with coptic stitching, this should be an easy transition for you.
Materials: • 40 sheets of 8.5x11" paper • 1 sheet of 5x8" paper • 2 thick sheets of 8.5x11" paper • Thread (learn more - http://bit.ly/YueOEN) • Ribbon (no wider than 3/8") • PVA glue
