President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo led the inaugural drive-thru and unveiling of the project marker of the reconstructed Padada Bridge in Barangay Guihing, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur. The president stressed the importance of the bridge in all sectors of Digos City, Hagonoy and other neighboring municipalities. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to President Arroyo for the bridge will make their everyday transportation easier and more convenient. Also in attendance were Davao del Sur Governor Douglas Cagas, Cong. Mark Douglas Cagas IV, Hagonoy Mayor Franco Calida, Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Director Osop Ali and other local government officials. The Padada Bridge is an essential part of the Davao City-Digos-General Santos City road because it reduces traffic congestion in the said cities. This bridge also connects the northern and southern parts of the region.
