Watch did not run. When I wound it up I felt no resistance from the mainspring. I figured it must be a broken mainspring. I was surprised to find the mainspring was not broken. The inside end of the mainspring had uncurled so the hook on the barrel would slip out as it was winding. A little bending of the mainspring and all is good. 18 size, key wind and set, Currier, made around 1881. This watch also stars in 'Installing a to small crystal' and 'How I take apart a pocket watch, Illinois Currier' videos now playing. This video performed by an amateur. Do not attempt at home. No watches were harmed in the making of this video. For entertainment only.
