The brazilian band Falso Coral transits between pop and alternative music using the 10-string Viola Caipira (Brazilian Viola) as the central piece of their songs. This baroque instrument, which was largely relegated to Brazil's deep country during the 20th century, recently conquered a growing number of admirers, scholars and instrumentalists in urban spaces.
"Begge Ben På Jorden" is the danish version of the portuguese song "Pé no Chão", written after Luis Coutinho - the band's viola player - visited Denmark. The song tries to incapsulate the influence scandinavian alternative music has had over Falso Coral's songs. The lyrics in danish were written by Sofie Thybo Pedersen as a gift and a challenge.
The band's debut EP 'Folia' was launched in 2016 exclusively through Billboard Brasil and has had positive responses from major Brazilian media vehicles such as Rolling Stone, Globo's Gshow and RockInPress, all of which named the band as one of the most promising names to appear in the national scene in 2016.
