Once a person becomes a Christian, it can become easy to keep asking forgiveness for one's sin, yet keep repeating the process: Sin - ask forgiveness; Sin - ask forgiveness: Sin - ask forgiveness ... until one begins to stop realizing that there are CONSEQUENCES to sin. Every sin. Yes, God forgives our sin when we confess it to Him and ask us to ... but that doesn't always erase the CONSEQUENCES of that sin! For instance, if you kill someone without justifiable cause according to the judge and jury, you will spend time for your sin against the law. God will forgive you of the sin when you ask, but He seldom removes the punishment (death) that accompanies the sin. Hence - painful jail time!
