Today we’re visiting 494 Elphinstone Avenue in Gibsons on BC’s spectacular Sunshine Coast!

This 3,136 square-foot home boasts solid high-quality concrete construction with one-foot thick walls and is designed last centuries. There are incredible ocean and island views from both levels as well as from the garden atop the green roof.

Each floor has its own kitchen and laundry facilities and as well was their own entrances. The lower level would be ideal for a vacation rental, a mortgage helper, or just as additional living space for family and guests.

Walking up stone steps, we walk the full-length covered deck on the second floor. This is an excellent space for entertaining or just hanging out. You have awesome views of Howe Sound and Keats Island. Following the wraparound deck brings us to the main entrance.

To our left is the front hall closet and in front of us is the open concept kitchen and living area. In the kitchen, we see Quartz countertops, a five-burner induction stove top with a pot filler as well as a walk-in pantry and small appliance garage.

We walk across the main living space and pass the Napoleon fireplace before returning to the deck for another look at that unbelievable water view!

Turning around, we find ourselves in the dining and living room. We get another look at the kitchen with its hidden double door fridge and wall oven.

We pass a closet on our way to the first washroom. This four-piece features an ornate vanity and a soaker tub.

Across the hall is the first of four bedrooms. Currently set up as a home office, this room has its own deck access and ocean view. Back inside, we see more of gorgeous engineered hardwood floor that stretches through most of the top level.

Here we see this level’s laundry room. There’s a front-loading washer and dryer and room for some additional storage.

At the end of the hall is the master bedroom and to the immediate right is the ensuite washroom. This room master bathroom features double sinks in Quartz countertops, an air-jet bathtub, and a separate shower with body sprays and rain showerhead. We exit through the walk-in closet before returning to the master bedroom.

This is a big space with high ceilings and engineered hardwood floors. We finish the tour of the top level by stepping out on the deck via the master’s sliding glass doors.

Heading back to the kitchen, we head downstairs to explore the family room and the rest of the house.

Directly behind us is a large storage space as well as a half-bathroom and on our left is this floor’s separate entrance.

A locking door leads to an open concept kitchen and living room. To our left are glass doors that provide access to the covered patio as well as the front yard.

Back inside, we see high grade laminate floors and a kitchen with a breakfast bar and three appliances. This is also where we find this level’s washer and dryer.

On our right is another four-piece washroom. There’s a vanity with a vessel sink and a tub with a tiled shower surround.

Across the hall is bedroom number three. It’s a generous size and has a window with a view of the ocean.

At the end of this short hallway is the second half-bathroom. Combined, there are three full washrooms and two powder rooms.

A quick turn brings us to bedroom number four. This is another big room with a large window and lots of storage.

Back at the top level’s entrance, we walk around back through the carport and past the two-car garage before turning left and heading up into the garden. We pass some construction where a new fence is being built and are rewarded with a panoramic ocean and island view!

This is an absolutely stunning home with too many features to list and needs to be experienced! From solid construction that’s designed to last centuries to in-floor heating to sound dampening windows to beautiful ocean views, 494 Elphinstone Avenue has it all!
