One of the great attributes of God is faithfulness. The faithfulness of God is something we sing about, great is Thy faithfulness. What a comfort it is that when we are unfaithful, yet He remains faithful. In my devotional reading through the book of Deuteronomy, I learned about God's faithfulness in chapter 2. I'm going to highlight a few verses here for you because these verses struck me as I read this chapter. Verses 5, 7, 9, 14, 19 and 33. And here it teaches me several aspects about God's faithfulness.

Number 1, it teaches me that God never goes back on His word, He is faithful. Because in verses 5, 9 and 19, I see that God said, I've already promised these parts of the land to other people and so you, Israel, will not process it. You see, God is faithful. When He has given His word, He honours it. God's faithfulness, is that He will remain true to His word. Point number 1.

Point number 2, I see that God is faithful to provide for His people. In verse 7, we see that Israel had been in the wilderness for forty years and the Bible says the Lord Thy God have been with you these forty years and you have lacked nothing. Basically it says I have been faithful to provide. And so the second aspect of God's faithfulness is His provision for you, every single day of your life. He's faithful to provide.

Number 3, I see His faithfulness even in the not so pleasant things, but nonetheless, He is faithful. He is faithful in judgement. In verse 14, we are told here that the Jews, many of them perished in the wilderness because God had already pronounce that they will not enter the promised land because of their unbelief, and God is serious. He is faithful to His word even when it is in judgement. So I see God's faithfulness in executing judgement. He's not whimsical, He's not flippant, He's faithful when He pronounces blessings or judgements.

And finally in verse 33 of Deuteronomy chapter 2, I see that God is faithful to bless. God is faithful to bless when we honour and obey Him. So just a very simple wrap up here, our God is so faithful. He never goes back on His word, He's always faithful to provide, He's faithful even to His pronouncements of judgements, and He is also faithful to bless when I obey. So my friends, why would you want to believe and serve God? One of the great reasons, because He is faithful. The faithfulness of God, great is His faithfulness. May God bless your heart as you reflect upon who God is and how faithful He is. God bless.
