Yuri Gagarin will forever be known as the first man in outer space. The Russian cosmonaut's 108 minute journey was the start of his short but eventful second life as an international hero.

I read books about successful people and make animated videos about them.

Thanks for contacting me. Love this format. Mind if I link from my Yuri's Day website? Also, did you gather any incite on Gagarin from our graphic novel?

Hi guys, Yuri Gagarin was the first man to travel to outer space at 27 years of age. He lived the next seven years as an international hero before his tragic death at 34. Cheers

Excellent video summary! I am the author of the book and am very impressed. I had once thought about turning my book into a graphic novel.

I like the fact that you have focused on different subjects that are not typical of most animation channels. Keep up the good work.

Fabulous. The 'Yuri's Day' graphic novel is a distilled version of Piers Bizony's 'Starman' which you may have come across.

Awesome video, thanks so much for making this! One thing I believe is worth mentioning is that there were potentially other candidates for the first astronaut prior to Gagarin. However, these missions resulted in failure and were never made public. This makes Gagarin the first successful man to have been in space and come back to earth, as opposed to the first man in space. That being said, there is no paper evidence for this, and my only source is a family friend who was involved in Gagarin's mission.
